Quarter. Small Galagov. People's school named after T. Masaryk - built in 1932. Arch. Peter Kropachek. Style - functionalism. This quarter was built in 1920-30, when Uzhhorod was part of the First Czechoslovak Republic, headed by the president, intellectual, professor and humanist Tomas Harrig Masaryk. Masaryk for the Czech Republic was and is the creator of the country, like our Hrushevsky, he was an intellectual in power. It was Masaryk who made the town of Uzhhorod the center of Subcarpathian Russia at that time. The best Czech architects (Adolf Liebscher, Josef Gočar, Bedrich Adamek, František Krupka, Petr Kropaček, etc.) created a complex, unique in architecture, administrative and residential area - Maly Galahov. It is called a "catalog of architectural styles" united by a single trend - modernism. Modernist classicism, functionalism, art deco and rare rondocubism are not all architectural styles of Little Galagov.
