He turned his back on Corso Street. It turns out that he, at one time, was dissatisfied with the architectural ensemble of Uzhgorod.

John Lord is the keyboard player for Deep Purple. The opening of the sculpture in his honor was held in Uzhgorod in 2012 under the famous song “Smoke on the water”. The sculptor, Mikhail Kolodko, depicted a long-haired musician wearing trendy flared trousers, a waistcoat, high-heeled boots and a cigarette in his hand. According to one version, John Lord sits facing the river, as if watching the fog that creeps over the river Uzh. After another, the musician sits with his back to the city. This is because he once (while in Uzhgorod) did not like the architecture of the city.

On November 27, 2014 in Uzhgorod, on the fence on Independence embankment, a mini-sculpture was opened by the leader of the Deep Purple band John L. Lord.
