The estate where the writer Joseph Conrad was born and a museum dedicated to him. His works have had a significant impact on many writers, including Ernest Hemingway, Graham Greene, William Burroughs, Joseph Geller and others. It is known that Francis Ford Coppola's famous film "Apocalypse Today" is also based on Joseph Conrad's novel "Heart of Darkness", although the action was moved to Vietnam. In the film "Alien" the spaceship is called Nostromo, as in the novel "Nostromo" by Joseph Conrad. It is also interesting that the name of the city from the same novel Sulako became the name of a spaceship in the sequel "Alien". The novel The Secret Agent formed the basis for Hitchcock's 1936 film Sabotage. Sixty years later, in 1996, a film of the same name starring Bob Hoskins, Patricia Arquette and Gerard Depardieu was made based on the same work. All encyclopedias write that Conrad was born on December 3, 1857 in Berdychiv. It was here, but on December 3, 2008, in the lower temple of the monastery of the Barefoot Carmelites, that the Joseph Conrad Museum was opened. In the village of Terekhovo, Berdychiv district, such a museum has existed since 1987, opened to the 130th anniversary of the writer's birth.
