One of the most interesting museums on the area. Represents a real life postman in 19 century.

Natural Post Station! As if plunged into antiquity. Even the smell is still original

The "Postal Station" museum is open in a preserved city station building. This is the only thematic museum in Ukraine, where all the premises of the station are available for inspection. The station "Pereyaslav" was the third on the postal route from Kiev to Poltava. In the four halls you can see the interiors of the office, the living room of the station's caretaker, the interior of the lounge for travelers, as well as the campers.

The "Postal Station" Museum opened its doors in 1993. Post station of the XIX century. was a state institution that carried out mail correspondence, money transfers, parcels and the press. The main function of postal stations was the transportation of passengers at a fixed rate. In the four halls of the museum, the interior of the office, the residence of the station warden and rest rooms, and sometimes also the overnight stays of travelers and coachmen, was recreated.

In 1993, on the basis of the real premises of the equestrian post station of Pereyaslavl of the 19th century. (intersection of Mikhail Sikorsky and Starokievskaya streets) the Postal Station museum was founded on the territory of the Pereyaslav National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve. In those days, the state institution - the Pereyaslav station was the third from Kiev, where they rested, changed horses, etc. In addition to transporting passengers, the station sent press, correspondence, money orders, and parcels. In four halls, the office of the station superintendent and the rest rooms for travelers and coachmen are very realistically reproduced. The following exhibits are interesting: an office table with accessories, coins, money papers, icons, suitcases, a gramophone, samovars, musical instruments, dishes, clothes, equipment.
