Quarantine in the current Shevchenko Park was completed in 1807. It was located near the earthen fortress (Odessa), abolished in 1811 and transferred to the same quarantine. The complex was separated from the city by a stone wall stretching along the edge of a cliff with two towers at the ends, from which two more walls, which also rested against the towers, sloped down the slope. Downstairs was Quarantine Harbor, where ships with the diseased were put. Next to the quarantine was a cemetery that existed for almost 100 years. On it was buried the dead from infectious diseases and not only. It was here that the defenders of Odessa, who died on April 10, 1854, found the last refuge during the shelling of the city by the Anglo-French squadron. Also in the park are buried 77 participants of the battle of Almina, which preceded the defense of Sevastopol from all the same British and French. At the same cemetery were the graves of the sailors of the English frigate "Tiger". By the way, the remains of the quarantine wall were turned into an arcade only in the second half of the XIX century, when this area became a city park. If you believe the municipal department of cultural heritage protection, which is the customer of the works, an exhibition hall and a club of medieval culture will be placed in the Compound.

This place is definitely not drawn to the exhibition hall. Eternal repair. Broken railing. The sea view is beautiful, it is a fact.
