Sponsored adequately this place could become one of the most popular 'must visit' places in Ukraine. Guides are divers who pick all the vessels from the bottom of Dnipro themselves. So they have really much to tell you! Let's hope this magnificent place is once noticed by government...

It is very interesting to hear all the stories about kosack's ships but this museum needs more finances it can earn itself

The only one in Ukraine and one of the largest shipping museums in Europe. There is a restoration hangar under the same roof as the museum, where boats are given a second life. The museum is located on Khortytsya, where in 1999 the Cossack "seagull" - the main exhibit of the museum - was raised to the surface. The pavilion is located next to the Equestrian Theater, but has nothing to do with it. Was in the museum in 2018 and in 2020, noted the changes for the better, new stands, new exhibits appeared. The caretaker talked about many of them in an interesting way and actually conducted an excursion. Therefore, I give 5 points. Not far from this place there was a shipyard, which was founded on the island of Khortitsa in 1737 during the Russian-Turkish war. The shipyard was set up where it was possible to bypass the rapids of the Dnieper and transfer the fleet. They built brigantines, as well as kayaks and boats, which were very reminiscent of the famous Cossack "seagulls". In just two years, more than 400 ships were built, some of them sank during a powerful flood, some could not overcome the Dnieper rapids that stood on the way to the Black Sea. And now they are being raised from the bottom of the river. A few years after the Cossack "seagull" they found a brigantine, a dowel-boat, a one-day boat and a canoe. Today the buildings have been mothballed and are gradually being restored. In the collection of the museum there are more than 30 anchors of Cossack "gulls", Russian brigantines and Dutch galleys. Some have no analogues in the whole world. Usually the museum is visited together with the Equestrian Theater. You can get there on your own, although it's difficult. A 20-minute walk from the museum there is a village of Vegetables, where minibuses go. I myself did not go, but I saw a minibus at the TsIMEZH, the residents of the village use it to go to work. I copied the information on the site, but it could be out of date. Minibus schedule 91: DK Kirov - the village of Vegetable growers Weekdays DK Kirov 6:30, 7:30 and then in an hour Pos. Vegetable growers 6:30, 7:30 and then an hour later Saturday 7:10, 15:30 back 7:30, 16:00 Sunday 7:10, 13:30 back 7:30, 14:00

It was closed. Although in the morning at 9.30 I called to clarify the opening hours. Friday, they said by phone we work until 13.00. Okay, I arrived at 10.30, everything was closed. There was an equestrian theater nearby, and we visited it with pleasure. I ask the organizers of the Museum of Shipping to take action. Thank.

An interesting museum. Admission is inexpensive, free for preschoolers. You can take a guide, but a lot of information is on the stands. You can take photos, it's also free. The exposition is small, 4 boats, all in the process of restoration, there is also a workshop. I read reviews that the museum is unstable, so I advise you to go on the weekend - until about 14:30 will definitely work. Nearby is a horse theater and an ancient mill.
