The visiting card of the city is the island of Khortitsa and Dneproges. Very beautiful nature. Rich story. A great place to relax away from the bustle of the city.

An interesting attraction, they say that during an archaeological expedition across Ukraine in 1843, Taras Shevchenko visited the island, and presumably walked along this path ...

The scenic footpath in the northern outskirts of Khortytsia is the path that Taras Shevchenko walked in 1843. Khortytsia Island has always been a popular destination, and the most famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko also visited this corner of nature conservation. In the summer of 1843, having reached the ship to Ekaterinoslav (modern Dnipropetrovsk), the young 29-year-old poet and artist set off on foot along the Alexander (present-day Zaporizhzhya) along the rapids, and then, passing the Kichka crossing, stopped to visit. The pear, which at that time was growing near the house of the Bulat family, is now called the Shevchenko Pear, and is a landmark of the city (it is on the left bank).

A 45-minute excursion with a story about the details of the visit to Khortytsia by Taras Shevchenko and the interesting facts related to this part of Khortytsya can be ordered through the terrace trail in the reserve. It is very overgrown with weeds, benches are sometimes broken.
