I witnessed, as the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, former and present members of the Communist Party laid flowers to the foot of Shevchenko. (The monument to Lenin, who was standing nearby, already dekomunicized.) Tears turned to my eyes. I thought then - "No matter how there were no executioners 100 years ago! If they were not, when Shevchenko lived!" If, in our land, "there will not be an enemy, a servant, and a son will be and have"? When will we crash on our land? Wait a lot, folks, very soon. Shevchenko only dreamed of it. And we will drink, sure!

The monument itself as a trend or part of a project for the development and education of youth is a very necessary thing. Of course, not enough identity and individuality. The square itself around the monument is good and many people rest there. But this is the same as in other cities. It makes the whole point simpler.
