This is not about the museum, rather about a Holocaust memorial located about 400m to the north-east, on the east side of the road. This open field was the site of mass murders in Aug and Nov 1942. The plaque reads: "Here lie about 2600 Jews residents of Kamin-Kashirsky and the vicinity who were murdered by the Germans and their helpers."

It was not long ago, but still from school when there was (and this is the beginning of the 2000s), there were very pleasant memories of the excursions that were carried out by the director of the museum)))

My native Kamin-Kashirsky. Do you know? The founder of the city - Prince Roman Mstislavovich of Volyn. He built a fortress to protect the northern borders of Volyn land. In 1241 the town was captured by the Lithuanian principality, it became the property of Lubart Gediminovych. From the beginning of the 15th century. mentioned in written sources as the possession of the Lithuanian princes Sangush-Kashirsky. The last of the family - Podolsk Sangushko-Kashirsky in 1628 founded a Dominican monastery in the city. After his death, Kamin-Kashirsky passed to the Krasitsky family - until the end of the XVIII century. Later the estate passed to the Horde family (Horde). In 1832 the tsarist authorities closed the Dominican monastery, making the monastery church a parish church. In 1830-1837 the building was rebuilt. In 1430 the town received the Magdebug right (confirmed later in 1600). According to the Union of Lublin in 1569, Kamin-Kashyrsky and the surrounding territories came under the rule of Poland, where the city gradually became a village. After the third division of Poland, Kamin-Kashyrsky and adjacent territories became part of Russia, where it became the center of the parish. During World War I, the front line passed through the villages of Toboly, Rudka-Chervynska, Velykyi Obzyr, Olenyne, and Borovno. After the Riga Peace Treaty of 1921, Kamin-Kashyrsky again came under Polish rule and became Kamin-Kalshirsky County, Polissya Voivodeship. In 1923 a county eldership was established in Kamen-Kashirsky. On January 1, 1927, the rural Kamin-Kashyrska gmina received the budget status of a city gmina. In 1940, Kamin-Kashira district was formed, later the district. The city and district councils started their activity. From the beginning of the war of 1941-1945, the territory of the district was occupied by the Nazis.
