It is absolutly gorgeous castle! I am very happy that ukrainian government issues money for its renovation! There are around 25 different rooms with the museum expositions: old weapons, furniture and art. Also there is a torture room in the basement. I can not wait until that time when all castl's walls and towers will be renovated and rebuild to enjoy it once it again! I strongly recommed you to visit this place!

The fortification in the picturesque town of Zbarazh belongs to the masterpieces of castle art of Ternopil region. It is both a palace and a fortress. Beautiful and strong, it has survived many sieges and has survived to this day as an invaluable architectural monument of the 17th century. Jerzy and Krzysztof are the brothers who founded the castle The construction of the castle in Zbarazh was the work of two brothers - Yuri and Christopher. This princely family can be called Ukrainian-Lithuanian-Polish. Its various representatives were governors, royal clerks and nobles, elders. The surname Zbarazhki came from the name of the famous town of Zbarazh. Princes Christoph and Yuri were very rich. They studied in Italy, listened to lectures by Galileo Galilei. In adulthood, both converted to Catholicism. But no one was married and left no descendants. So after the death of the brothers, the castle built in Zbarazh passed to the closest relatives of the founders. The castle was built only 5 years (from 1626 to 1631). In his early days, he looked a little different than he does now. It was a palazzo in fortezza. Its fortifications reflected the latest achievements of European fortification art. The two-story entrance gate was one-story, and the bastions were higher. And underground long walks led from the palace to the well, and then - to the city.
