Unusual structure. The monument and the area around is well-groomed. A very high and steep climb. The mountain offers a magnificent view of the surroundings. The monument itself is made realistically and with a lot of multifaceted scenes.

Zinovy Bogdan Khmelnitsky is a name inextricably linked with the history of the city of Chigirin. Bohdan Khmelnytsky became the Chyhyryn centurion in 1638, and just ten years later he organized and led the largest uprising against the Commonwealth, which went down in history as the Liberation War of the Ukrainian people in 1648-1654. Born in the nearby village of Subotov, he fortified the city and established his residence here, thanks to which Chigirin became the first capital of the Cossack state. In 1967, at the top of the Castle Hill, a huge monument to hetman B. Khmelnitsky was erected by sculptors M. Vronsky and A. Oleinik, designed by architect V. Gnezdilov.

The monument inspires with its scope. The greatness of the Cossack era is well conveyed. In general, the mountain where it is located offers a stunning view of the Residence of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, the city of Chigirin itself, and the Tyasmin River. It is especially beautiful there at sunset.
