Museum of the eminent writer-writer Vladimir Korolenko begins its activity in 1928 with the exhibition "Life and Creativity of Vladimir Korolenko", organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the writer. On the basis of this exhibition, in 1940, a museum was created, headed by the daughter of the writer Sofia Vladimirovna. During the fascist occupation of Poltava, the museum's exhibit was evacuated to Sverdlovsk. The house itself is undergoing significant destruction. In December 1946, to the 25th anniversary of the death of the writer VG Korolenko House Museum was restored. During 1978 the re-exposition was carried out - the writer's memorial apartment was restored. The museum complex now includes: the writer's memorial estate - a late-nineteenth-century history monument. XX centuries, the outbuilding, which houses the exhibition hall, and the tomb of the writer and his wife in the territory of Victory City Park. The museum exhibit contains more than 10 thousand exhibits, among which are the personal belongings of the writer and his family, a large library, works of fine arts, manuscripts of the cycle of Siberian stories, "My Contemporary Stories" and more. In different years, the guests of the cozy Korolenkov house were Ivan Tobilevich, Panas Mirny, Mikhail Kotsubinsky, Valentin Kataev, Ivan Kozlovsky. The employees of the museum keep the spirit and grandeur of V. Korolenko's house. The traditions of his home were revived: literary and artistic evenings, New Year's children's holidays "Near the Korolenkivka fir-tree". At the end of acquaintance with the exposition of the museum of its visitors a delicious royal tea from the healing herbs awaits. The estate of the writer, his grave in 1921 (Victory Park) is listed in the State Register of Real Estate in Ukraine as a National Monument.
