The museum worker was incredibly nice! He told us everything about the museum and the city. The only missing thing was English descriptions for the items. Also, entrance is free of charge.

Now I will show you a technical and scientific museum, which is unique for Ukraine and many countries. My internal certified geographer was comforted 🤗 At the moment, it's quite common for us to have at hand a lot of modern devices or capabilities to instantly find out the weight, size, temperature. It is also not difficult to measure the strength or voltage of current (next to the digital meter), the radiation background (there is a dosimeter), the alcohol content or the stage of wine (once acquired because they are interesting), and so on. So here: at the Lviv Metrology and Standardization Center more than 30 years ago the Museum of Metrology was opened. On 150 m2 there are about 800 measuring exhibits, and for some even more than a hundred years. Many of the exhibits you used for school classes. Something was at home, or always seen in shops, workshops. At the entrance to the museum hall, a glance at the 4-meter calipers, which once measured the width of the wheel pairs at the Lviv Locomotive Repair Plant, immediately fell. There are wooden scales, which in 1926, the production that was used on the market, approximately, by 2010. Pretty interesting exhibits are glass weights that can not be sprayed, or drill a hole in them and, accordingly, make an error in mass measurement. The oldest items among the means of mass measurement are the weight of the 1884 year of manufacture, which was used in shops and in the markets. There are also scales in the exposition, which can measure up to 0.01 milligrams, volts and ammeters of the XIX-XX centuries. Pretty interesting exhibits are the pocket voltmeter of 1900 dc of production, the American ampervoltmeter of 1891 manufacturing and the Hungarian counter of alternating current, which until the middle of the XX century was used in Lviv apartments. A very dedicated man answers the museum exposition, which will help you to understand the exhibits and answer all your questions :)

Not a large, free museum that is a huge rarity now. Wonderful sociable guide, will respond to all your questions. The museum has a huge number of different measuring instruments. I think such a museum would be very useful and interesting not only for adults but also for children. I recommend.
