Villa belonging to Ivan Franko (1856–1916). In 1901–1902, two villas for members of the NTSh, Mykhailo Hrushevsky, a professor of history at Lviv University, and Dr. Ivan Franko, were built on neighboring plots (construction numbers 1560j and 1562j) by the builder Martin Zakhodny (Zahudny). Ivan Franko used the money donated by the Galician community in 1898 to the 25th anniversary of his literary work, part of the dowry of his wife Olga Khoruzhynska (1864-1941), which she inherited after the death of her grandfather, Russian General Tamanov. I also had to take a loan from the Galician Regional Bank (12 thousand crowns at 4% per annum). Villa Franca is a brick building in the "Swiss style", which consisted of five rooms, a kitchen on the ground floor and two rooms on the second floor. Ivan Franko lived in his own house for the last 14 years of his life and died here on May 28, 1916. In the 1920's and 1930's, Ivan Franko's widow and his sons Taras and Peter lived in the house with their families. On October 10, 1940, the Ivan Franko Literary Memorial Museum was opened here, the first director of which was his son Petro Franko (1890–1941), a pilot of the Ukrainian Galician Army, an engineer and teacher, a member of the People's Assembly of Western Ukraine unknown circumstances, taken out of Lviv in June 1941 by Enkavedists. The villa is still used as a literary memorial museum.

Thank you, my lady, For your ray - a sincere word! As the ray does not gain darkness, Words of sincerity will not buy silver. In the winter slush, in the daytime I walk the thorny road; Whom I loved, they forgot, And who I was friends with - turned away. They turned away and shunned, From my work they smile, What is sacred to me is trampled in the dust, - And misery and darkness grow and grow. It is difficult to uproot a tree, The second ancient from the heart expelled. It's hard to walk in the dark, even in the mud, Where lies hiss around a viper. And how joyful in the midst of the difficult The way is dark and deserted Look - the window is shining somewhere! .. So in grief to us - a sincere word. The same for a small gift, and your priceless, Which, like a flower, brightened my autumn path, For that smile, you are not in trouble Thank you! Thank you! #Ivan Franko Written January 27, 1887, not yet published according to Wikipedia ... Visit the Franko Museum in Lviv. Take a tour for sure !!! You don't know Frank ...
