In Rynok Square (Ukrainian: Площа Ринок, Polish: Rynek we Lwowie) or Market Square which was built in the 14th century there are four fountains. One fountain in each of the four corners, they call them wells. Probably designed by Hartman Witwer in 1793. The sculptures represent four Greek mythological figures: Neptune, Diana, Amphitrite and Adonis. In 1998 the Market Place, together with the historic city center of Lviv, was recognised as a UNESCO world heritage site.

The fountain was installed in 1973 on Market Square by the sculptor Gram Witwer. From ancient Greek mythology, it is known that Amphitrite is the goddess and queen of the ocean, the wife of Poseidon. As the story goes, Poseidon once saw Amphitrite dancing with her sisters on the coast of the island of Naxos. Fascinated by beauty, he wanted to take her away in a chariot, but Amphitrite closed herself to the titan Atlas, but soon the dolphin brought her to Poseidon ... Nice ... I recommend))
