The Glory Memorial in Cherkasy is dedicated to the memory of the city residents who died during his defense from Nazi invaders. It was opened in 1967, and after another 8 years it was completely completed. Earlier, on the site of the monument, the Trinity Church towered, which was blown up before the construction of the complex began. The diameter of the embankment, which serves as the basis for the sculpture, is 60 meters, and the height of the statue itself is 10 meters. The total height of the structure is 20 meters. The bronze statue depicts the Motherland, in the hands of which is a cup with the Eternal Flame. How long will the fire blaze, how long will the hearts of people remember the exploit of ordinary soldiers. On one of the supporting walls are 5 bas-reliefs made of bronze, telling about the grief inflicted on the population during the Second World War. On the top of the hill are paved alleys leading to the last resting place of the heroes. Their names can be read on the memorial wall.
