What was the original purpose of this tower is now difficult to guess - it was built in the middle of the 15th century, that is, long before the city and the fortress passed under the control of the Turks, whose life no one can imagine without a harem. Moreover, contemporaries wrote that there was not a single woman in the fortress. There is an opinion that the name of the tower is folklore and first appeared on postcards of the beginning of the 20th century and it was invented by Ackerman photographers, more patriots of their city and even more romance.
