The building was built in the second half of the 30s of the 20th century according to the model project No. 103 (1935) by the architect Emmanuel Kodner. According to the same project, a building of secondary school No. 17 was built in Lugansk. There are more than 40 similar buildings in Ukraine. Initially, and until 1955, the building housed Voroshilovgrad Special Air Force School No. 19. After the closure of the Air Force special school, and to the present, the building houses secondary school No. 26.
