A floral clock, or flower clock, is a large decorative clock with the clock face formed by carpet bedding, usually found in a park or other public recreation area. Most have the mechanism set in the ground under the flowerbed, which is then planted to visually appear as a clock face with moving arms which may also hold bedding plants. The first floral clock was the idea of John McHattie, Superintendent of Parks in Edinburgh, Scotland and the clockmaker James Ritchie. It was first planted up in the spring of 1903. Kyiv's floral clock was opened in August 2009, it had used a mechanism, given the mayor`s office in Edinburgh. Diameter clock about 20 meters (65.62 feet) in diameter clock face - about 16 meters (52.49 feet), the length of the arrows - 4 (13.12 feet) and 7 meters (22.97 feet) . Kyiv's flower clock is recognized as one of the largest in the world.

A nice clock with flower decoration. Pretty good idea for a big city like Kyiv. Naturally, it changes all the time, so every time you come, there may be something different. Just a hint for a better photo, view and even panorama - go up on the small bridge above and enjoy it.
