In December 1970, the grand opening of the museum took place. Then the Cabinet of Aviation History at the Kharkov Aviation Institute opened its doors for the first time. The museum exhibition is in the apartment where Stepan Grizodubov lived and worked from 1921 to 1965. Here, Valentina's youth passed. After numerous changes and additions, the exposition received the status of a museum. In 1985, the facade of the building was decorated with a memorial plaque dedicated to aviators, and in 1986 the house received the status of a historical monument.
