Next to the Entrance Tower is a two-storey residential building built in the late 16th century. Its architecture indicates its original defensive purpose. Experts believe that one of the walls, which is two (!) Meters thick, was an extension of the surrounding Castle wall. This building is called the Puzina House by the name of the Orthodox bishop of Lutsk of the seventeenth century, who lived here. However, the rich and the first inhabitant was a rich citizen of Andriy Zagorovsky. All this time the house was and remains in private ownership. It was owned by the well-known Volyn family of Gulevych, Lutsk Catholic bishop Falchevsky. The last housewife, leaving the city, sold her apartment, and now in the medieval walls there are already four families. It is the fact of private ownership that has become a stumbling block in the relationship between the residents, the management of the Old Lutsk Reserve and the city council. According to the mayor of Mykola Romanyuk, it is impossible to come to terms with the fact that the locals and tourists see such an abandoned dwelling in the heart of the reserve. The owners of the building demand to buy them four two-room apartments, for which the city authorities have no money. Taras Raban, director of the reserve, says that potential patrons are more willing to invest in a castle or church rather than doing charity for the overpriced, as they see it, privateer's needs. Puzyna House is perhaps the oldest Lutsk dwelling house. Under Soviet rule, he was given the status of a monument of national importance. In 2006, when Anton Kryvitsky was the mayor of Lutsk, the city received four million state subventions, it was given a decent look to a medieval castle, and at the same time intended to save Puzyna's house. The law stipulates that the owner of the property is obliged to repair it. But for the past 30 years, the builder's hand has never touched the medieval walls. At present, the mayor of Lutsk Mykola Romanyuk intends to repair the facade of the building (so as not to scare away tourists), although it will require very big money.

The oldest residential building in Lutsk. It sounds cool! And the fact that there still live people, even more impressive. However, I do not want to wonder if they have modern conditions (or go in the old fashioned way to the toilet on the street))). BUT! The view of this building is the most that neither is usual. They did not even take pictures. Given that it is directly next to the castle, you will necessarily see it on the road (if you pay attention, of course).

The oldest dwelling house in Lutsk. Surprisingly, people now live in it. It looks decent enough for its age.

A very unusual sight. But in appearance nothing special.
