The art gallery was opened in 1996. It is located in a building built by the vice-mayor in the early twentieth century. Jakub Feierstein. The facade of the house is completely preserved, in contrast to the interior. The exposition recreates the atmosphere of cultural and artistic life of the past centuries of Drohobych in the context of Central Europe. Painting of the XVI-XX centuries, graphics of the XVII-XX centuries, sculpture, works of sacred art, etc. are presented here. Artistic masterpieces performed by S. Popovych Meditsky, F. Molitor, F. Bernhart, I. Trush, J. Malchevsky, O. Ekman, A. Pylykhovsky, and O. Kurylas deserve special attention. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the work of Father Vasyl Hlibkevych. This is an iconography of 1940-1970. All icons are painted for Drohobych churches, most - for St. George's and Exaltation Churches. Museum icons have been restored. Secular art of the XVII - second half of the XVIII century is also presented: things from the collection of the ancient Ukrainian-Lithuanian count family of Lyantskoronsky (whose estate was in the town of Rozdol, Lviv region), namely: portraits of family members, utensils, decorative and applied arts, landscapes, graphics . The art gallery exhibits paintings of the XVIII century, sacred art of Boykivshchyna (late XVI - second half of the XVIII century), church art (XIX - early XX century). Work time: 10: 00-18: 00, Monday - closed. Entrance tickets: For adults - 20 UAH. For children - 10 UAH.

The museum presents exhibits related to icon painting and the life of clergymen. Unfortunately, we arrived almost before closing time and did not have time to take a tour, but a museum employee still told us basic information about each room. Interesting and informative!

The most beautiful old icons and paintings. The entrance is only 20 UAH. I definitely recommend to visit.

Museum of the Icon - the place is definitely not for everyone. But on its subject matter, the collection of exhibits is very good. Only five halls, divided by historical periods. With a good guide you can get a lot of interesting experiences.
