This sculpture appeared in Mariinsky Park in 2009. Bronze chestnut is dedicated to Kyiv mothers and newborns. One of the halves depicts the ancient symbol of Trypillia - a solar tour, which symbolizes the revival and continuity of life. And the chestnut itself is a symbol of our city. The action was timed to the opening of this monument. Young chestnut trees were planted around the monument - they were planted by the parents of newborn Kyivans, who were born on June 1, 2009. 89 women who became mothers that day were issued certificates for the right to plant chestnuts in the garden. Young parents planted trees in the park with the names of their children. By the way, all the chestnuts have taken root and today please Kyivites and guests of the city.

The monument to the opened chestnuts is located in the Mariinsky Park in Kiev. The sculpture represents two large ripe and open fruits. It was installed on June 1, 2009 on World Children's Day. 89 women from Kiev, who became mothers that day, were issued certificates for the right to plant chestnuts in the park. Chestnut has long become a symbol of Kiev. It is not for nothing that even City Day is celebrated in May, when the whole capital is decorated with white and pink candle inflorescences. Blooming chestnut was present on the coat of arms of the capital of Ukraine for several decades, until in 1995 he was replaced by Archangel Michael, the heavenly patron of the city. The author of the monument in the Mariinsky Park is sculptor V. Osadchy. The monument is also called Bronze chestnuts, although chestnuts are only made in bronze. One of the chestnuts is decorated with an ancient Trypillian symbol of rebirth and continuity of life - a solar boat. The object is periodically attacked by vandals.

Unlike selfiesFrogs, there are much fewer people willing to take selfies. Because you won't get out much: you'll pierce the chestnuts.
