Slavutinka is an alma mater of generations A unique architectural monument, built 115 years ago by a wealthy lawyer Danylo BABYCHEV for a teacher (as they say, her beloved Stefania Slavutynska, who later became the director of the gymnasium), was destined to become an alma-mater of one generation of students, a working school №5 for girls, since 1961 - boarding school №2, and since 2014 - specialized boarding school I-III degrees "Slavutinka". So it is not surprising that graduates (businessmen and hairdressers, economists and physicians, drivers and teachers, even a chief of cargo port and military political scientist) take off to celebrate the anniversary of the founding, without exaggeration, of a historical institution. Dr. Bulgakov (at that time he was not yet the famous author of "The Master and Margarita") rose in the marble steps of the school. The First World War was underway and the house was used as a military hospital. And cute angelic faces from the ceiling smiled at Ukrainian poet Natalie KASHCHUK when she was a student of girls' school # 5 (50s of the last century). And nowadays a frequent visitor of boarding school was a famous Podolian writer, local historian Tamara SIS. Even today Slavutinka welcomes guests who are fascinated by the amazing atmosphere that prevails here.
