The only monument to a garbage truck in Europe you can see today in Kiev. It is located not far from the Berkovtsy cemetery. It was erected here in honor of the 35th anniversary of Kyivspetstrans and the 10th anniversary of the Ukrainian Association of Automotive Sanitary Cleaning Enterprises. Once around the city of Kiev, garbage was collected on carts, which were carried by horses, then the military truck GAZ-51 replaced them. And then it was the turn of our hero to take out the garbage, the GAZ-53 model, which is immortalized in this monument. This model appeared on the streets in the 80s, had a carrying capacity of only half a ton and ate 28 liters of gasoline per 100 km. Employees of the Kiev KP "Spetstrans" considered that "the garbage man also deserves a monument - the garbage truck will increase the prestige of the profession of sanitary cleaning workers." The monument was installed in April 2004
