Had an amazing time at this museum that doesn’t get too much attention. Lots of amazing little pieces of history and tons of models and artifacts that makes for a great way to spend an hour or two. The hourly tours that take you through every aspect of the working steam powered boat. Prices are reasonable and not too expensive, views on and off the boat are fantastic. Not too crowded and it’s a perfect way to enjoy a little piece of the past. Staff is super friendly and location is perfectly situated near downtown.
Visit this nice little attraction on the water front of the river next to downtown Portland for something different. It is really worth the visit and gives you a good glimpse into the history of Oregon's riverboat days.nnThis is a good activity to do just about any time, but we went first thing when they opened and got our own private tour by one of the very knowledgeable docents. He really went into great detail about all aspects of the boat, the things that happened back in the day and current facts as it was related to why they were there and how they existed.nnIt won't take up much of your time, but will fill an hour or more. This attraction is great for both adults and kids of all ages.nnDon't forget to ask for AAA discount if you are a card member.
Don't have any direct knowledge of museum. I purchased tour tickets online and showed up an hour later to learn they weren't having the tour. Money was promptly refunded and employees were very apologetic but I'm only in town for a couple days and was super excited only to be disappointed. The management and promotions/communications folks need to get on the same page and post accurate information
Awesome place. Fun weekend activity. Staff are knowledgeable and familiar with the place. Good for all ages. Well maintained and up to date. Friendly employees. Inviting environment.
My 2 1/2 year-old Granddaughter was too young to appreciate the maritime history and the engineering technology (and it was a very hot, humid day,) but Grandfather enjoyed it very much.
