All entrances to the Town of Beverly Shores are clearly marked with signs prohibiting the parking of vehicles on any town roads, or in any town parking areas without a parking permit. There are three National Park Service parking areas available to visitors to the Indiana Dunes National Park areas within the Town of Beverly Shores. All are welcome. Town roads are narrow and not always easily navigable to vehicles towing travel trailers. The National Park Service provides online guides on campgrounds and parking areas to visitors who will be towing travel trailers. Recommendations to those towing trailers are always to arrange for a campsite in advance unhook there and drive your vehicle into town or other National Park areas.

Visited the National Park and ran into a Beverely Shores police officer who was on a closed road near the beach writing tickets to the handful of cars that had parked on the shoulder of the road. There werent any no parking signs. We turned onto the road only to find a road closed sign about halfway down, which is incredibly unhelpful. If you are going to spend resources ticketing park goers in an area that has limited parking may I suggest placing some signs so that visitors can make an informed decision. Otherwise it just seems like a deterrent to visit the park. We were pulling a small travel trailer and turned onto the closed road (which there was no way of knowing until half way down), the officer was clearly in the only spot that we were able to turn around on the road and he didnt seem very interested in being helpful. We ended up having to back up the entire length of the road.
