I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HELPED ME TODAY..THE RESPONSE TO MY DISTRESS MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS THEIR FAMILY MEMBER..I AM OVERWHELMED BY THE PATIENCE AND THE DIGNITY THAT WAS SHOWN TO ME IN MY TIME OF NEED..I AM SO GRATEFUL AND I THANK GOD FOR THE KINDNESS AND THE HEARTS EARS AND SPIRITS THEY SO GRACIOUSLY GAVE TO ME..ALL OF YOU AND THE PARAMEDICS WILL FOREVER BE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS..STAY SAFE OUT THERE MY HEROES..MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOREVER..ud83eudd17

I recently called to report my social security card stolen and was met with the rudest, least helpful response I have ever received. Whoever is answering the phones over there needs to be replaced. I can’t even imagine if I had had an actual emergency. I was scoffed at and made to feel ridiculous for even trying to report it stolen. She basically told me that if something actually happens where someone is trying to use my social security card then I should report it stolen which makes absolutely no sense. It is really discouraging when the people you’re supposed to be able to count on to serve and protect you are acting like this. Extremely disappointed with the Chesterton police department.

I want to thank Sarah (hope I spelled that right) and the Rest of the Chesterton Police Dept. for being way too cool... I had an issue, and they readily helped me resolve it... 2 Thumbs Up for ALL Our Street Soldiers... and remember when reading reviews, if someone got caught by the Police and arrested, OF COURSE they are going to leave a negative review, so take the cry babies with a grain of salt...

My Son & I are traveling going home to Colorado for Christmas. We checked into the Econo Lodge in Chesterton Indiana last night. I caught the man at the front desk writing my cc information on the back of the check on paper he had already written my Drivers License info on. I told him I did not want him writing my cc info down & he said he did it because a former tenant had stolen a TV & microwave out of a room so he wrote my cc number down in case we did damage or stole something the owner could charge my cc. I told him that's bs since he had already ran my card through their cc machine & I told him & the lady with him that NO, I am Not comfortable with them having my personal & cc info & I dont like the way they do business! I told him I wanted him to black out my cc info or give me the paper he wrote it on & he Refused! He said the paper would go into the Owners office! I said that at that point three strangers I dont know have my personal information & I'm Not ok with that! Its Dishonest! I Didnt hardly sleep all night! These two at the front desk seem shady to me & my Son. So, this morning I called the Chesterton Police Department & told the officer the situation & he basically told me: too bad they have your personal & cc info, theres Nothing we can do unless they commit fraud on your card! So, I told him I would really appreciate it if he would just have a Police Officer call the front desk at the Econo Lodge & let them know I had reported their Shady & Dishonest way of doing business & he basically told me NOPE! This Dishonest way the Econo Lodge does business & his refusal to help me has pretty much tainted my Holiday & I will Never Stop in Chesterton IN. Again! The Dispatch officer acted nice at first but then acted offended & defensive of the Econo Lodges Shady business practices! So, I had to Call my bank, Thank God they open at seven am & I had to have them Red Flag my account & my cc! So, Thanks to the Dishonesty of the Econo Lodge & The Police Not willing to even call them to let them know I reported them, my Holiday is Ruined!!!!!

My neighbor swore my garage door was closed after both my husband and I had left for work today and the same neighbor saw it open about 10 p.m. at night. The Chesterton Police Department were very kind and sent officer Dan to go with me inside. I felt very stupid asking for this, but both the dispatcher and officer were very understanding. So many officers don't get enough credit for what they do. Thank you so very much.
