I'm really not sure how to rate it yet. My grand daughter was going to McCornack in the Churchill area. Her mother needed to move and found a nice 2 bdrm, but her school district changed to the River Road school. She is in Kindergarten, and at McCornack was already reading words and simple books. She was learning abstract thought, and music. I sat in on one of Mr Shane's classes and was so very impressed at his teaching style and how he peaked these little children's imagination.nThen the move to the immersion school down River Road. I was amazed and astounded at the difference in not only teaching styles, but the level of learning was abominable. The classes are geared toward 70% Spanish and 30% English! I feel she doesn't need to speak fluent Spanish at this time but should have the goals of English speaking children her age.and learning those concepts.I feel that a person should have a choice of schools, that even poor people should not have to 'settle' for a school that doesn't go in the direction of the parent's decision to educate their child.nUnfortunately her mother doesn't drive and needs to rely on a school bus in the district where they live. It just doesn't feel fair that she doesn't have a choice in the matter - or does she??nThank You so Very Much for any information you can shoot my way!
