Levi and Catharine Coffin State Historic Site

Great biography and history, a must visit location. Our guide, he did an awesome storytelling.

My daughter and I had a wonderful visit at the Levi and Catharine Coffin Home. We received a guided tour of the home with some great info and history of the Underground Railroad. We also got to spend some time the interactive center that is located next door to the house. A great piece of Indiana history.

This is a wonderful place for a historical perspective of the Underground Railroad from a northern perspective. It offers a fantastic tour of this nearly 200 year old house built specifically for helping individuals making the travel from the South to freedom in Canada. Interactive museum exhibits help learners get a grasp on what it would be like be held in slavery and understand the horrible act that it was. Tour guides are incredibly knowledgeable and courteous. Highly recommend for all interested in learning about major historical events.

I enjoyed going here to learn about Levi Coffin and Catherine Coffin. I went here because they are some of my ancestors!
