Educated Sandwich

I have eaten here several times before the new management took over. The sandwiches were always loaded and a good value. My first time back was not a good one. I'll give them one more shot, but my Rueben was probably the weakest version of the sandwich I've had anywhere. It was mostly sauerkraut with a couple pieces of corned beef. The quality/value issue was pervasive as the one of the included pickles slices was a paper thin edge (all skin). The cashier was very friendly, but there are too many lunch options downtown to overpay for a deli sandwich.

Tucked away out of sight for most people, this delicious restaurant is definitely worth the time it takes to find it. The BLT is my favorite; succulent and amazing. In fact, I think I'll go back for lunch today.

Educated Sandwich recently came under new management, which has resulted in an updated dining room and mostly new staff. Unfortunately, the new folks are far less friendly and efficiency (never a calling card for ES) has not improved. Menu items are still decent, particularly the wraps. Breakfast sandwiches are mediocre. Specials are hit-or-miss. I can't speak to whether the quality of the catering has changed.nnCall me nostalgic, but after 7 years of weekly lunches, served by Dale and his crew, I don't find it worth the 3-minute walk anymore.

Service was fast and friendly. Food was just ok compared to the price

The food is 5 star. The prices are high.
