George Street Historic Steel Bridge was built in 1887 by the Lomas Forge & Bridge Works. The 254-foot length Bridge spans Hogan Creek which is a tributary of the Ohio River. The Ohio River is less than a quarter of a mile from the George Street Bridge. The Bridge is immense and is pin-connected to a 16-panel Whipple Through Truss. The Bridge carries two lanes of cars with a total width of 23-feet. George Street Bridge is very tall and has a vertical clearance of 17-feet. The Bridge was rehabilitated in 1989 and in 2011. It is beautiful! and open for traffic.
