Nu-Yale Cleaners

I sent my down pillows here to be cleaned and put in new ticking because the fabric was starting to fall apart. They gave back my pillows with literally 50% of the feathers missing. I had my mom take them to her usual down cleaner guy in her state, and he told us that he gets a lot of rework from this company, as they steal filling and do a poor job regularly.

I use their delivery service and the drivers are responsive. Nu Yale provides a valuable service that saves me time resulting in a good value for the money.

I brought my wedding dress in to be cleaned since my mother had spilled red wine down the front. I waited at the desk at the location at Holman's Lane in Jeffersonville for a few silent minutes until the clerk came out of the back room. I waited for her to ask pertinent questions about the garment and the work that needed to be done, but she didn't say a word, just rang me up and whisked my precious dress away. I should explain that I made my dress with natural silk fabrics I'd had shipped in from China. The clerk was supposed to have made me sign a waiver since the garment did not have a tag on it that listed the fabrics, but she neglected to do so and I didn't know that a waiver was needed. I only found that out after the fact. The next morning, I was nervous about my dress, so I called to check and see if they'd had any issues. Instead of putting a hold on the processing of my dress until the plant could identify the fabrics and know how to go about trying to clean it, they just pushed it through the process. When I went to pick it up, I discovered that not only had they failed to get out the stain, but they'd shrunken the silk gauze overskirt, making a shambles of the hemline. I was understandably hysterical, but the manager wasn't sympathetic or courteous in any way. She only offered the rather lame excuse that there was a new girl working when I dropped off my garment and that I should have been made to sign a waiver releasing them from any damage since it was a hand-made piece. I was never once offered reparations for the damage and only obtained a refund for the cleaning fee after I demanded it. I will never bring any business back to Nu Yale for as long as I live.
