New World Nails

I’ve been coming to New world nails for years and they never disappoint. The service in this establishment is what sets the apart from other nail salons around town. Mira takes her time doing my nails. I never feel rushed. Always feeling like VIP with her hospitality and outstanding detailed work. She’s friendly and kind. Great experience getting a pedicure last week. The woman did a beautiful job. Will come back again in a couple of weeks.

I needed a manicure but I had little time so tried this neighborhood salon. I needed acrylic wraps over my natural nails and 2 thumbs extended to match my other nails. The were only 2 people working, one doing mani’s and one pedi’s so my wait was long. I had to rush out after my wraps were done as I was now very late so I asked for only one coat of polish and said I would return soon to complete the rest. I paid the bill and tipped 20%. Mira (the owner) asked me to call before coming back because she gets very busy and I said ok. Within 2 days some wraps started separating and one thumb extension broke off and the thin polish began wearing away. I was busy so it took a week before I could get back. Since the polish was so worn I chose to use a different color polish and was told there would be a “change of polish charge”. I was very surprised about this and told her I felt she should have corrected the poorly done job and not charge anything additional that it was the principle and not about the $6. She argued with me even asking another customer in the store what they thought. She rushed through the job and it looked horrible. I paid the $6 charge and tipped her $4 anyway and told her I would not return as it was the about the integrity of the business not about the money. She kept the $6 and gave me back my tip. A few days later the same things started happening to my nails so I went to my regular nail salon and he said “who did your nails? This is horrible!”. He removed all of the wraps and redid them and did not charge me for doing so. This is the difference between good business and bad and why I would never return to New Word Nails.
