First, and most importantly, Ridge has high quality materials in stock that most of not any other lumber yards do not have. Premium materials do come at premium prices, but some things are only attainable locally and from people who take good care of a product while it's sitting there waiting for you to be purchased.nnThen there's service. They are very easy to deal with. They give the customer the benefit of a doubt - trust you to select what you want and not screw it up for the next guy. They volunteer a valuable advice unprompted. Although I suspect as anyone else in the industry, they may not suffer fools well, they were very courtesies and respectful.nnLastly, location is near major roads and highways. It's very convenient to get in and out. I haven't even noticed the road in between although my trip was in fact rather long.

Downgraded Ridge Supply to 2 stars. I ordered two sheets of Azek board for $160 each. When I ordered I asked them to make sure the boards were clean bc Azek does not need to be painted. Ok. After being told they were coming last week, my carpenter went to pick them up. Oh, sorry I was told, they didn't arrive at Ridge Supply. So I waited another week. Finally they arrived and we went to pick them up. Well one of the sheets was marked up. So again, I have a hired worker and Ridge screwed me up. So I asked for a small discount $16, on a $160 board and the jsckhole said - I'll keep the boards. No apology, no recognition that the materials were marked up. Rude. And on top of that they are charging $12 for a pressure treated 2x4x8 that's all chewed up. Home depot sells cleaner stock for $6.98. Won't be going back to this place. Better off going to Paramus Building Supply, those guys treat you nicely even if you are a making a small purchase.
