Renaissance Equity Apartments
Reviews

I lived in my apartment here for four years and can truly say that I did not enjoy the experience. The apartments are small, poorly insulated, and close to the train tracks. My apartment was on the third floor and was always above 80 degrees inside. When I called to ask if there was anything that could be done about this, I was told to open the window. The kitchen cabinets look like wood in the pictures, but that is a vinyl cover on a metal cabinet. The very first thing I did when I moved in was change the knobs on the cabinets since the ones that came with the apartment were rusted. On top of the bathrooms being covered in awful yellow tiles, there was a window in my shower, completely at chest level that opened up to a balcony that everyone used to smoke cigarettes on, so I would have people watch me as I showered and if I opened the window to let steam out or to cool my apartment, the sweet smell of cigarettes would linger throughout my apartment. There are not enough parking spaces, so my guests and I would park on the street when we had to, which resulted in several parking tickets from the town. Like several others who have written reviews here, I also had packages stolen from the common areas.nnBut even through all of these complaints, I didn’t feel strongly enough to write this review until I began the process to move out, when I personally feel that Mount Pleasant Village and the equity holding firm that owns them, Renaissance Equity, stole money from me. I paid a month and a half security deposit when I moved in, about $1,500. Knowing that my lease was ending on December 1st 2019, I began to look for a new apartment, and found an excellent apartment nearby that I couldn’t be more happy with, but they could only hold the apartment for me until November 1st. When I asked Mount Pleasant if I could move out a month early, I was told that wouldn’t be a problem as long as I paid the $500 break lease fee. I paid the break lease fee the next day along with a written notice that I would be vacating and assumed all was ok, until I received my security deposit back and found that they had removed the full amount of rent for November, over $1,000. I tried several times to contact them and everyone I spoke with told me there was nothing they could do to help me and that I would have to speak with the manager. I called back every day for two weeks asking for the manager, who never to this day called me back.nSo please, be weary of any dealing with both Mount Pleasant Village and Renaissance Equity.

I would give 0 stars to this apartment company. Their apartments especially the one in wallington nj are old and not updated. They are from the 80’s. I lived there for 4 years and when I left they charged me half of my deposit for things that wore off because they were so old and outdated. I am going to be taking legal action against them because I got pictures to prove the same. They never fix things and despite repeated work order calls they take forever to fix with cheap repairs that breaks down in a few months.

If I can give them zero stars I would but Google doesn't have that option. Apartments stink very old. THE DAMN WINDOWS are 2000 years old in the winter time you have to tape them shut bc the cold will come in and freeze the apartment. Flying cockroaches filled in the apartment and at night time raccoons and other animals crawl and play on the roof on top of you. They never fix anything. Bathrooms are 1000 years old. Owner has connection with the health department otherwise they wouldn't get away with all of these problems. They only turn the heat to 100 degrees and if you call the office bunch of old sick racist ladies that think we are bunch of animals living in the complex. They are bunch of smelly old racist scumbags filthy animals that need to go to the nursing home to live there. Do your self a favor and don't move there.
