I went to this school several years ago and was mistreated badly, I was smart and when I did my homework with my parents they were praising me but I would be givin the same thing every night learning the same things and my teachers were telling me I was doing things wrong when I wasn't. I was being bullied by some students and nothing was done about it. I wouldn't really recomend but if you want to send your child here go for it. This was just my experience.

My child's teacher is a hard-working talented teacher. Plus, nice after-care program, music, dance, P.E., and art programs. Beautiful library.

I don't know about the ugly part but I do agree with the snobby part. I know a woman who does not live any where near this school and she is sending her kids there because she says her kids don't belong in the schools near her home because her kids are too white and too rich to go to those schools and that she doesn't want them around Hispanics or Mexicans. Umm... hello this is New Mexico! We are a diverse state. If that is not snobby I don't know what is then. I feel so bad for the kids because that is what they are being told and taught.

Despite what others might say, I believe that Atalaya is a nice school. It was a fun place to be in. People say that there are a lot of "snobby white people," but there are also just as many other people who are nice, kind, and caring about you. You were just meeting the wrong ones!

I went to Atalaya several years ago and I was mistreated by staff, abused by students, and administration did absolutely nothing about it. I do not recommend this school due to the abuses I received here.
