Id like to thank the officers that detained my son and the other teens on March 23rd who were fighting for handling my son with care. As a mother of 2 black sons and a grandson unfortunately living in the society we live in, it is my worst fear for any of my boys to ever have an encounter with the police. These officers did their jobs effectively with care and safety and I know a lot of mothers unfortunately cant say that. I wish I knew their names but I just want to thank them and all the officers at the front desk as well. You showed me and my son that there are still good officers out there. I wish you all the best. I would like to know why with the police station being where it is and the school safety guards standing around on the corner 2 blocks away, the teenagers that get out of school every day around 1-2PM are allowed to run havoc in the streets. Trying to break the citi bikes, harassing cab drivers & the public. Never mind the fights they get into with each other. What is the point of those school safety people? Most are ridiculously overweight & do nothing but stand around and talk to each other. They are pointless and a waste of my taxes. And you never see a policeman in the area during those hours. It makes no sense.

Unfortunately the only time we ever see them on W. 55th St. is when they're driving back to the station or ticketing and towing our cars! Whatever happened to protect and serve? Since when did we become their ATM?
