Wasnt Alpo known to frequent here in the mid 80's?
Lil dangerous but def a hotspot for any true hiphop heads. This is the legendary location of Rucker Park basketball courts. Shown in films and talked about in hundreds of older school hiphop albums. I have no idea about the living conditions inside, but unfortunately since this is the poorest area of Manhattan, the level of upkeep is probably somehow subpar of spots more and more downtown. The 5 stars are for the ball courts and their importance to early hiphop culture.
This PAL has so much to offer.
Amazing place
NYCHA built this as a gym for youth always closed, except for political showplace.
