I've been eating at Sweet Tomatoes, aka Souplantation, for nearly 20 years and a decade ago would've given at least 4 stars.nnLike everywhere else, prices have gone up considerably (more than double what it cost a decade ago), and even worse the product has gone downhill. Best example is the Chinese CHICKEN Salad no longer has CHICKEN. I was told by management that they wanted more vegetarian options, that is one of the few meat based proteins that the restaurant serves it is all vegetarian options, sounds more like a lame excuse to get rid of the most expensive ingredient.nnAnother example, they no longer make their own butter and use little packets now. They used to come around to your table and offer free chocolate chip cookies, it's been years since I have seen that done.nnWhat is remaining today is 3 stars, and I'm being generous out of nostalgia for the $5 lunches of yesteryear, that included chicken in the chicken salad.nnIt's an OK choice for a healthy buffet, but a far cry from what it was in its heyday.nnUpdate May 7th 2020: Despite the fact that Sweet Tomatoes was not as great as it once was I am still deeply saddened that they are permanently closing. I will miss eating here, thanks for all the years of good food.

This was my first visit ever to a Sweet Tomatoes, but my fiancee and I really enjoyed it. Everything, including the soups, was so fresh and delicious. Unlike some buffets I didn't leave feeling like I needed to inject Drano into my veins to unclog them. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely return.

Very friendly place. The management is very helpful all staff is friendly. Food is very good as well. My only grip is that I would like to see green peas back on the menu. Not everybody likes beans in their salad. Also I would like to see that chicken dumpling soup back. I understand that they need to rotate the menu but everybody had their favorite as well.nOther then those two things, great place and easy to get coupons for.

It’s a buffet style American food. It’s salad, or starts with it, but there’s a lot of non-salad things, ands where you start thinking that you’re being healthy... but not all that much actually. It is good for what it is, though. Be careful and think about what you eat and it’s not unwise.

Delicious salad. Familial and familiar atmosphere. It was my FREE birthday dinner. I was very grateful. As a Black woman, I'd not go alone again (without a book.) Not super inviting. Other folks of color were with their families and that was inspiring. Certainly the Clackamas County feel. ud83eudd37ud83cudffe‍♂ufe0f
