Somerdale Borough Police Department

Officer Brian were very helpful by being patient with someone who has a severe hearing losses and I gave him the information about someone following me. I gave him a description of the man and the license plate so he look it up and told it's not the guy I describes and was puzzled to ask, What's going on here? He explain that it could be pi or someone who get paid to follow and watch you.

I trust these officers. They're always available and quick to respond. Friendly.

Like many townships in New Jersey sleeping in pretty much anything other than a home warrants officers to harrass you. If you are sleeping in your vehicle from exhaustion of being on the road or for any other reason such as to avoid a commute to work or being that you are displaced (homeless) you will be targeted by the police. It is especially discriminatory to the poor and homeless. California understands this better than many states. If you are poor or displaced run as far from Jersey as possible the cops are horrible and treat you like a criminal for even just sitting in your vehicle. I have had a horrible experience with this police department. The local government is to blame for the passing of such an ordinance but the pleasure officers seem to get from bothering the general public in regards to this matter is sad. Simply put if you are poor or homless Jersey doesn't want you.
