Historic Walnford

What an amazing historic place! This is a must for picnics, homeschooling, children, romantic dates, history buffs! What a peaceful hidden gem. Wonderfully preserved. Beautiful 5 generation family story. Reminds me of Allaire State Park but on a smaller scale. Incredibly interesting and worth the trip! Fabulous working grist mill with very knowledgeable county guides.

This is a beautiful, meticulously maintained historic village, hidden away in Upper Freehold. This isn't a particularly large park, but it is very charming and rarely has a large crowd. The staff/ volunteers are very friendly and are more than happy to give you a tour and fill you in on the property's rich history. Special thanks to Barbara for the mansion tour.

Great place to visit. Monmouth County does a great job at this small but interesting and scenic park.
