Maple Shade Police Department

Today while driving on Fellowship Rd I approached a road construction area that was sectioned off with police situated at both ends. The male officer on my end waved me through as soon as my traffic light turned green (he also waved through the car directly behind me). At the other end, a female police officer stopped both of us and issued us summonses. When I told her the first officer gave me the “go ahead”, she said “that’s impossible!” So rather than corroborate the stories of two drivers, we have to show up in court and plead ‘not guilty’ and hope the judge believes us. Worst case scenario, we’re found guilty, pay fines, then our insurance companies raise our rates - all for doing exactly what we were supposed to be doing! To me, this fits the definition of both “crazy making” and very poor policing. I don’t wish to take away from the five star experiences of others that I am sure are deserving, and I will happily upgrade my own review if/when I feel this particular issue is dealt with promptly and fairly for all parties involved.

They are lazy when it comes to paperwork I was harassed for 2 years and files 21 police reports for violation of the restraining order and the officers either would lie or try to turn me away. Belittling me and the situation and the judge is not any better. I have filed violations in other townships and never experienced what I have with this township police and municipal court.

Respectful and there when I needed them. That's all I can ask for.

I honestly believe officers check identity of vehicles they do not see daily. I have yet to approach the library, senior citizens group meetings or visit friends in Church Road area without spotting an officer spot checking me. It seems they just happen be going right past the residence or facility of my destination.
