Who would have thought such a small rural little county would have such a rich and fascinating history.nnDid you know that residents of the county got upset with the state department of tourism for leaving them off the map in the early 60's and decided to secede?nnThe result was a humorous but worthwhile tourism boost as the residents developed their own visas, stamps, and even secession moonshine. People traveled from all over to see the little county that stood up to the state. (It didn't last long because they realized they would loose state funding but it was fun while it lasted.)nnDec 1st is the last day of the season... always a great event to close out the season. Group tours upon request.
