A wonderful place to explore a piece of history. I took my children, who range from 3 years old to 10 years, and they all enjoyed it greatly. You can enter the many buildings and explore, enjoy the scenic view of the Missouri River, and go learn even more in the museum. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. The kids enjoyed how they dressed for the time period. We highly recommend!

We enjoyed a couple hours here with the kids on a cross-country road trip. They enjoyed climbing around the fort and there were two staff inside to explain different aspects of the history. There is also a really nice visitor center with a short video and great museum in the basement.

Nice close to home historic site. Enjoy a quick visit with a lot of interesting information.

We came back into town to visit family and decided to take the family out to Fort Osage. The last time I visited Fort Osage was probably in 1992. Needless to say there’s been a ton of improvements since I last visited.nnThere’s now a beautiful visitor center that has great displays and lots of great information about about the force history as well as the areas history.nnThe grounds are very well up kept and it’s a fun visit when you get to learn a lot and see any part of history.nnThe only reason we didn’t give it five stars is that in some of the towers there’s some wasp nests that probably could be cleaned out, but then again it is Missouri, ha ha!!!
