Loved how the citizens of Hermann saved a building that was critical to the founding of their city. What a great way to repurpose an historical building and teach others if Hermann's heritage. It is important to know our history.

Everything about this place is top notch! Staff was the best you could ask for not only answering our questions about the exhibits, but also giving us excellent recommendations regarding the town. There are literally HUNDREDS of pictures of Hermann of yesteryear; but my favorite part is the interactive exhibits.

Great little museum documenting the founding and history of Hermann, MO. Self-guided tour in an original, 2-story school house. It features original artifacts organized in themed rooms, such as children's artifacts, river and riverboat, tools and crafts, and significant people. Fascinating if you're interested in history generally or German/Missouri history specifically.

Really cool piece of history! We didn't realize we had spent almost 2 hours here until we were heading back down to the gift shop! Packed with little bits of life in German settled Hermann. This was our favorite stop!

Way too much stuff to see in one go. The Riverboat exhibition was really interesting. Tons of toys interesting because the children that played with the toys were pictured or described. Really well done local museum.
