The staff was very friendly, and helpful. I knew what I wanted and could describe it but just couldn't think what it was called. The gentleman that helped me looked for something that would work.

Like any Ace Hardware store this location will have what you need when you just don't want to go to one of the big stores. They are always well staffed unfortunately, the people they have working there know little to nothing about they it's they sell. This is true for every location in Topeka that I have shipped at. In a rare occasion you will get the older person working there that knows what you are talking about when asking for something specific for that DIY project you are working on. Long gone are the days when a neighborhood hardware store was staffed with people who actually knew what you needed and where it is located. Most of the staff you encounter don't have a clue what you are talking about and also have no desire to learn about the many things I their store.nnThe last really true hardware store that had knowledgeable staff working there was Roaches Hardware but they eventually closed their doors because they could not compete. I would pay the higher prices for the convenience of the smaller store, but with poor service I'll just go to the big stores because of the cheeper price.

The people are friendly & helpful. Products are good quality very well organized, help at every turn.

It's septuagenarian employees are always difficult to find to ask a question and consistently surly when you do manage to corner one. Whoever they contract with for fasteners has some rude employees as well. They may be working in the store, but they will quickly snarl that they don't work there if you dare speak to them. Even if what you are looking for is an arms reach away. Or it is just as likely that everytime I am forced to go there instead of Roache's I just encounter savagely rude customers which is also a norm there. It's an ok store as far as modern hardware stores go. But you are probably better off going somewhere else if you need help or just don't already know where everything is in the store.

Loved the fall selection of mums. Great customer service.
