Didn't think this was going to be very interesting. SURPRISE! It was very interesting. The information was very eye opening and going inside the existing homes was a real eye opener as to how life was on the fort during that time.nnGet off the highway and go explore a bit. You may learn something ud83eudd14

A great historic site guarding the old wagon trails. The officer's quarters are impressive, and while it pales in comparison to Fort Larned, Kansas, it represents an important piece of frontier history.

a very nice historic location. They've done very well to replicate with the two remaining officers quarters what life would have been like at the fort back in the late 1800s.there are two other original buildings on the property that have been restored and maintained very well. The museum has a nice video that explains life on the fort and the reason the fort came into existence.

Plenty to see, plan to have time. Very educational

If I'm passing through during the day, I always stop in to have a good walk about with my service dog. It's interesting and a friendly place to stretch ones legs. Also, in case of inclement weather, the on-site information center / museum is open til 5pm. And most interesting to folks of all ages.
