Hard to absorb History like this place has seen. Want to have everyone be considerate of one another and this era didn't share a lot. The buildings were terrific. We spoke with one of the guides and they were super helpful. The details and information were done very well even though it made one sad that individuals had to live through it.

We did not get to see inside any buildings, we stopped by late at night on our way through town. Weren't sure if we should since it was after hours but ended up very glad we did. You can read the history of Fort Scott online (or read the handy signs they have posted) and walk around the grounds & buildings at night - bonus points for being kind of spooky. The surrounding town is cute with some nice restaurants.

Very cool self tour. Buildings are in excellent condition. One building has a video interactive display. Outside are cell phone self tour posts. Right across the street from old town shopping and a BBQ joint. Great warm weather stop.

Well preserved Fort. Th build displays are awesome, and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Close to downtown, there are restaurants within walking distance. Check out the jail and how they secured prisoners. Plenty of parking and worth a stop. Also 2 hours to see everything.

Awesome day trip with the family, I would definitely go back again! Learned so many cool things and probably could learn more if I went back again. My three old daughter thought it was the coolest place.
