Stayed one night for business, but I highly recommend for business or pleasure. I really enjoyed the cozy room and the historical aspect of the hotel. Frank was a wealth of information about the history of the building and it’s many unique inhabitants over the last 100 + years. I am a history geek, so I enjoyed learning many things I never even thought about. I imagine I’ll be back someday.
This is a fun, historic hotel to visit. It is one block away from the fort and several restaurants. The owners make sure your stay is great. As a matter of fact, I left a pair of earrings on the bedroom nightstand and they mailed them to me!
While my stay wasn’t long, it was comfortable, CLEAN, and quiet thanks to the Cortland and their attentive staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel above any of the chain hotels in Fort Scott. When I return to Fort Scott this will be my go-to place to stay!
Historic hotel, wonderful rooms and a very welcoming & friendly proprietor! Great place to stay when you visit Fort Scott.
Awesome place to spend the night! Lots of history and old time style! Well worth the time and money, and it's fairly priced!
